Job Summary
WoN seeks a Program Manager to lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs advancing women’s empowerment. This role ensures alignment with WoN’s mission while managing budgets, partnerships, and teams to drive sustainable impact in Tanzania.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy (40%)
- Lead program planning, budgeting, and execution across economic empowerment, healthcare, WASH, and social justice initiatives.
- Develop and implement MEAL frameworks to track progress against goals (e.g., women’s income growth, healthcare access).
- Integrate gender-transformative approaches and movement-building model.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement (30%)
- Forge partnerships with government bodies, local NGOs (e.g., women’s rights groups), and international donors (UN, EU, USAID).
- Represent WoN in national forums (e.g., CSO Forum, gender equality coalitions).
Team Management & Capacity Building (20%)
- Supervise program staff and field officers; foster skills development in gender-sensitive programming.
- Mentor partners on WoN’s approaches (e.g., economic resilience, GBV prevention).
Reporting & Compliance (10%)
- Prepare donor reports, ensuring compliance with WoN and institutional requirements.
- Document best practices for knowledge sharing (e.g., success stories, lesson briefs).
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, or Development Studies (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years in program management within NGOs, with focus on women’s rights/gender equality.
- Proven track record in economic empowerment, WASH, or healthcare programs.
- Experience in Tanzania/East Africa highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Fluent English and Swahili (written/spoken).
- Proficiency in MEAL tools, budget management, and donor reporting (e.g., USAID, EU, UN and Foundations).
- Computer literacy (Office 365, data analysis software, google drive).
