About Women Now (WoN):
Women Now (WoN) is a dynamic, women-led organization based in Tanzania, dedicated to empowering women across Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. Our mission is to dismantle systemic barriers, advance gender equality, and empower women to become leaders and change-makers in their communities. Through our programs, we focus on economic empowerment, healthcare access, education, and social justice, creating a more equitable and sustainable future for women and their families.

Role Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated international volunteers to join our team for a two-month period. As a volunteer with Women Now, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of women while immersing yourself in the rich cultures and vibrant communities of Tanzania and Zanzibar. Your contribution will help us uplift women, foster leadership, and drive sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with local teams to support and implement WoN’s programs in areas such as economic empowerment, healthcare access, education, and social justice.
  • Assist in organizing workshops, training sessions, and community outreach initiatives aimed at empowering women and girls.
  • Share your expertise and skills to build the capacity of local women and community leaders.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluating the impact of WoN’s programs, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Engage with local communities to understand their needs and challenges, fostering culturally sensitive and sustainable solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of educational materials, reports, and advocacy campaigns.
  • Support the WoN team in day-to-day operations, including administrative tasks and communication efforts.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social justice.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to diverse environments.
  • Previous experience in volunteering, community development, or related fields is an asset.
  • Skills in areas such as education, healthcare, business development, advocacy, or project management are highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Open-minded, respectful, and willing to learn from local communities.
